Coach's Corner      March 29th, 2011                                 Joe Belka, Head Boys' Basketball Coach
It is hard to believe that we are closing the book on another season of Royals' Basketball.  The season seems to fly by so fast and it is important to take a step back and appreciate the success of the players and teams.
We came into the season with much anticipation and some lofty goals.  The players worked very hard in the offseason to prepare them for the rigors of the regular season.  We fell short of some of our goals but not because of attitude or effort.  We as coaches could not be more proud of the individuals in our program.  We have quality student athletes who are successful both on and off the court.  Every season is filled with ups and downs and this season was no different.  Coaches often say that athletics are a great way to learn life lessons.  The lessons learned this season will help our players both on and off the court.
As we say goodbye to another season we must take time to thank all of those who support our program and help make it a success.  We would like ot thank all of the parents within our program.  Your support, generosity, and commitment to our program is greatly appreciated.  To the players, your hard work and dediation to basketball and Rogers High School make coming to work a joy each and everyday.  You as players have truly made this basketball season a great experience and you will be remembered always.  To the RRTOC.  Your support of our program and your commitment to excellence has truly made our program a first class organization.  Our players are treated very well and given opportunities that most student athletes will never experience.  A final thank you to all of our fans who supported us throughout the season.  Your cheers and support are appreciated and you should know that all of your positive comments and your commitment to our team does not go unnoticed.
We must say goodbye to our seniors.  It is never easy to see them play their last game. This years group is very special and will always be remembered for not only their work on the court but for the fine young men they have become.  They have much to proud of.  They have helped raise our program and taken it to a new level.  They can honestly say that they are leaving the program better than when they entered it.  They have left their mark and have made a positive impact on our program and school community.
We have some excellent players who will return next season to represent the Rogers Royals Basketball program.  With loss comes opportunity.  Our players are eager to fill the shoes of those who are leaving.  It will take a lot of hard work and dedication to keep our program moving in the right direction.  I have complete confidence that we have a group
of student athletes that will do everything in their power to make all of you
proud to be a "Royal".  Enjoy the offseason and we will see ya next November.

See ya on the court,

Coach Belka
